About the Cotton We Use

About the Cotton We Use

Everything starts with the research and development of fabrics and fibers. Our team is committed to exploring natural and environmentally friendly fabrics. Therefore, we are very picky about the selection of fabric fibers. For example, cotton fibers, as we all know, will present completely different textures and body sensations due to factors such as fiber length, weight, and density. High-density pure cotton fabrics are softer and more delicate, making them very suitable for Hawaiian shirts in summer.

BCI Certification Standards

The cotton we selected has obtained the BCI Better Cotton Certification Standard (Better Cotton Initiative). The core of BCI is to promote the planting and production standards of "Better Cotton", which cover three aspects: environmental protection, social responsibility and economic feasibility. Specifically, it requires cotton farmers to adopt more environmentally friendly farming methods, such as reducing the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, and protecting soil and water resources; at the same time, it emphasizes protecting the basic rights and interests of cotton farmers and their families and improving their living standards; in addition, through training and technical support, it helps cotton farmers improve production efficiency and achieve sustainable development.

About the Comfort of Our Cotton

As a pure cotton Hawaiian shirt, we focused on the comfort of the shirt, striving to make it soft to the touch, breathable to wear, and able to resist pilling and shrinkage.

Therefore, we chose 80-count cotton fiber, which means the cotton has a higher density and feels more delicate and soft. If you hold our shirts up to the light, you can see that the fibers of our shirts are evenly woven with no visible gaps or holes.

At the same time, we attach great importance to the inevitable shrinkage of cotton shirts. We pre-shrink each shirt, and the shrinkage rate of cotton fabric after pre-shrinkage can be reduced to less than 1%. Due to the mutual squeezing and rubbing between fibers and yarns, the softness of the fabric will also be improved.

Printing Technology on Cotton Fabric

This is one of our pure cotton shirts with a Sakura pattern. Through high-definition resolution, you can see the delicate weaving texture of the cotton fibers and the clear Sakura pattern.

This is related to our printing technology: Water-based cotton fabric ink(Chromoink).

Water-based cotton fabric ink uses water as the solvent and is mainly composed of pigments and various additives. Not only does this ink deliver vibrant colors, it also has low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, making it more environmentally friendly and safer for operators. The binders and other additives in the ink ensure its excellent performance on fabrics while enhancing durability and washability.
Water-based cotton fabric inks are particularly suitable for printing complex designs and high-resolution images, producing clear, detailed prints on fabrics. These inks adhere tightly to the fabric, ensuring color stability and fabric softness over long periods of use.

How To Care For Cotton Fabric

As a versatile fabric, cotton is relatively easy to look after. Here’s how to wash, dry, and iron your cotton:

Washing:
Always check the care label to make sure your cotton item is machine washable! Each blend of cotton is different. To preserve bright or dark colours on cotton, try washing at a lower temperature.

Drying:
Check the label for any special considerations, and dry naturally or on a cool temperature in the tumble dryer to avoid shrinking.

Ironing:
Use a low heat setting to help preserve the softness of cotton clothing.
