WASHING & RETAINING QUALITY

Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a new shirt. It’s beautiful, it really is. Now, it may all feel a bit overwhelming at first. You may worry that the shirt will fade, or that the beautiful patterns will be washed away after multiple washes. Or you may worry about shrinkage, wrinkles, and so on. Don’t worry. These are all common concerns. But if you follow our shirts care guide, you and your new shirt will enjoy a long and beautiful life together.

BASICS ABOUT OUR SHIRTS

Maybe you are curious about some basic information about our shirts. Although some of the information is visible to the naked eye, there may be some interesting details that you have not noticed yet.

For example, the weight of our shirts is about 300 grams. What does this mean? If you have ever bought some cheap polyester shirts, you will find that they are very light and feel like plastic. That is because they are only about 150 grams. This means that our shirts can accompany you through summer after summer and travel after travel.

We also use the best fabrics and materials we can find, as they produce better quality items that last longer — it’s far more sustainable to buy one shirt that lasts you a decade, than ten shirts that last you a year each.

HOW TO WASH ?

Much like our skin, 100% natural fabric shirts do not like heat. In fact, it can even make them shrink. You can hand-wash or machine-wash your favourite shirt, just make sure it’s in cool water and don’t overfill the machine. And don’t tell your other shirts – they’ll only get jealous. Also never EVER let them near a hot dryer. Unless you’re prepared to spend all day joking that you’ve just ‘Hulked Out’.

ABOUT MACHINE WASHING

Are shirts machine washable? Yes. But always wash shirts cold. And inside out. And then shake them all about (but gently, please). And if you’re trying to reach the mythical ‘washing basket zero’, then don’t. Overfilling the washing machine might seem exciting at the time, but actually all that sexual tension between your clothes can cause damage to the fabrics. Give them some space, jeez.

WILL SHIRTS SHRINK IN THE WASH?

This may be your biggest concern, but we need to discuss this on a case-by-case basis. Shirts will shrink only if you machine wash them in hot water or put them in a hot dryer. You should only use cold water, but you already knew that. If you already use cold water and are still worried about shrinking, you might as well worry about what to eat for breakfast tomorrow morning. Because our shirts are made of mixed fabrics instead of a single fabric, for example, we all know that the advantage of pure cotton shirts is that they are skin-friendly and breathable, but they do wrinkle easily, and they will inevitably shrink and become hard after multiple washes... We have mixed 50% Tencel™ in the improvement process, which has unparalleled wrinkle resistance and softness, and perfectly combines all the advantages of pure cotton fabrics.

CAN YOU IRON SHIRTS?

If you work two hours a day, post TikToks about Japanese mayonnaise, and have the time to carefully hang your freshly washed shirt outside to dry, by all means do it (just turn it inside out and out of direct sunlight). For everyone else, ironing your shirt is fine - just turn it inside out and thank me later. Oh! If you use a hot iron, always remember to turn your shirt inside out.

HOW TO PACK SHIRTS WITHOUT CREASING?

Are you ready? Take a deep breath. Fold each sleeve back towards the middle of the shirt. Fold the shirt in half horizontally, folding the top side down to meet the bottom. Fold the shirt in half horizontally again, so you’re left with a compact rectangle fold with the collar of the shirt facing up.
It's complicated, right? So we recommend that you hang your shirts on hangers and put them in your closet. This way they won't get wrinkled or dusty.
